Marvel released another new one-sheet for the Thor sequel, this one focused entirely on Thor's new-found foe. The implications of their attack along with his Malekith's true intentions remain unclear, but we do know from the Thor: The Dark World trailers that they attack both Asgard and Earth. While the history of Malekith and his bitter relationship with Asgard remains unclear, we do know that he - and a seemingly vast armada of ships - are back to "plunge the universe back into darkness." (from the official Thor 2 synopsis). Their leader, Eccleston's Malekith- along with his army - not only wear masks as part of their standard issue armored suits - but underneath he's got another mask, one that eventually becomes half-burnt. The film's subtitle The Dark World refers to the realm of Svartalfheim, home of the Dark Elves - from Marvel Comics' take on Norse mythology. While Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ( Lost) may have spent the most time before each day of shooting Thor: The Dark World for makeup and prosthetics work to play Algrim the Strong and later, his alter ego Kurse, Christopher Eccleston ( Doctor Who) doesn't have it easy either playing the film's primary antagonist.
